1975 Porsche 911S - Silver Anniversary

Silver Anniversary
There are very few 1975 Porsche 911S Silver Anniversary editions on the road. You can search the net and find tidbits here and there, but all and all, there is not a whole lot known or shall I say publicized about them. From my limited research, I found out that Porsche manufactured 1,500 units. Half were released in Europe and half in the States. Some were Coupes, some were Targas. Some had aftermarket Air Conditioning and some did not. Some of the transmissions differed as well. However, they all had Silver and Navy Hounds tooth Tweed fabric inlays in the upholstery, Diamond Silver Metallic paint, and an Embossed Plaque on the passenger side dash that carried Ferry Porsche's signature.
Engine
We have replaced the original 2.7 with an 1984 3.2. The 3.2 was built by Competition Engineering in California. It has a large (in comparison to other 3.2's) Logic cam, 95mm JE pistons, set of 46 IDA Weber carburetors w/ 4" Transition Port, 1 ¾ European Racing Headers & Flowmaster Mufflers, RSR Flywheel, 930 Turbo oil pump, Raceware rods and stud bolts, and a Sachs clutch. The stock suspension was replaced with Bilstein's front and rear inverted coilovers, 935 Spring Plates w/ Toe Adjuster, and Studs w/ Taper Cones Hypercoil Springs, Dyno measured and marked. The stock cookie cutter Fuchs were replaced with an original set of polished Fuchs: 16x6 on the front and 16x7 on the rear. The front tires are Dunlop Sport 8000 and the rear are Dunlop's Sport 8050 (specially designed for Acura's NSX). The electronics are all MSD: Timing Computer, Timing Control, Digital Ignition Control, Coil, and an Optima Red Top battery to crank it. The fuel delivery consists of a MSD High Pressure Electric Fuel Pump (maybe a little over the top) and a Mallory Fuel Pressure Regulator.
We took it into Colvin Automotive here in Austin, Texas for a fine tuning. While in there, they discovered more than a usual oil leak. See the photos that they took through the process and their comments along with one of the initial Dyno results. Select the titled link "Porsche 911 Oil Leak & Engine Overhaul."
Fulfillment
The car is a true joy to drive and ride. The nostalgic exterior and interior of the Silver Anniversary coupled with the altered engine and suspension create a mean team. Or as another Porsche driver said, "It's a Sleeper!"
